May 2015 Beauty Palette

I feel like I wore makeup consistently and yet hardly at all. I have a lot of pictures that I didn’t use so I might have to just do a miscellaneous Face Files post or something.

Well, let’s close out April and get into May….

April featured products & notes:
DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom EDP
Honey by Marc Jacobs rollerball
Tarte Aqualillies Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye and Cheek Palette [LE]
Custom Eye Shadow Quad:
               MAC Soft Brown
               MAC Moon’s Reflection [discontinued]
               Makeup Geek Mango Tango
               MAC Ricepaper
Maybelline Color Tattoo – Bad to the Bronze
Maybelline Color Tattoo – Tough as Taupe
Maybelline Color Tattoo – Hydrangea Hype [LE]
Milani Liquid Eye Liner Pencil – Brown
Milani Color Statement Lipstick – Nude Crème
Maybelline Vivids Lipstick – Shocking Coral
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick – Ravishing
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter – Peach Parfait
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer – Aurora

This was my first concentrated effort to use the Tarte Aqualillies Palette. I like it – it’s great for getting ready in the morning without having to put a lot of thought into what goes with what or what products to use – quick and easy. The only color I am still iffy about is Bikini because it has a purplish sheen that was tricky to use in a flattering way. I’ve taken to using it on the outer part of the lid like an accent or hint of color.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer
Revlon Lip Butter – Peach Parfait
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain – India Intrigue
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Lovesick
NYX Xtreme Lip Cream – Strawberry Jam
L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Privee – Jennifer’s Nude

This will definitely not be the only products I use this month. Classes are over and so I am soon to be on official summer break, i.e. no real reason to wake up early in the morning on a consistent basis… for now. I should also be less rushed to take photos. The plan at the moment is to get more creative this month, so we’ll see what happens.
Chloe eau de Parfum by Chloe (full size and deluxe sample)
I’ll be smelling like flowers this month. Chloe is probably my favorite scent currently. It has notes of: pink peony, freesia, lychee; magnolia flower, lily of the valley, rose; cedarwood, amber, and honey. To me, the scent is classy and fresh. I’ll be keeping the deluxe sample in my bag to refresh.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Bad to the Bronze
I mixed and pushed around Bad to the Bronze to get a better idea of how much was left. I’ve used a little more than half of it, so I am pleased. Though I like the color more now than when I first got it, I want to try to use it up by the end of the year, which is why it’s the only eye product on the list for the moment. I’ll be using it as a color and then as a base for other colors.

MAC Peony Petal
MAC Immortal Flower
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Matte
I’m excited to use the MAC blushes in Peony Petal and Immortal Flower. When I finally decided to up my blush skills, MAC came out with a limited edition collection of 6 blushes a few weeks later. I picked up these two and I am very pleased. Peony Petal has been added to the permanent line, but Immortal Flower has not (maybe yet?). The Bronze Goddess was a free sample that someone gave me years ago so I thought I’d use it.

Revlon Peach Parfait
Revlon India Intrigue
Revlon Lovesick
NYX Strawberry Jam
L'Oreal Jennifer's Nude
Apparently, I’m on a Revlon kick. I didn’t realize I had chosen 3 lip products from Revlon until I wrote out the list. I am also on a fuchsia kick. Peach Parfait is my top lip butter, but I would like to use it up since there isn’t that much of it left. India Intrigue , with NYX’s Strawberry Jam are the liquid choices. I haven’t used Lovesick in a long time so I took it out for this month. Jennifer’s Nude (lie! I’m clothed!) is the neutral choice.

Here we go!
